Bakti Mulia Orphanage
The Bakti Mulia Orphanage is ran by Mr. and Mrs. Rondonuwu. The couple gave up their secondary jobs and took on the responsibility of the care of orphaned children. They currently care for 59 children from newborns to high school, pastor a home church of 100, and care for 12 widows.
This job is monumental as they have only 1 helper and their 2 natural children. Their needs are great as they struggle monthly to make ends meet, feeding and clothing the children and providing for their education.
The current building they occupy has blueprints for three stories. The bottom for the boys and the Pastor's family, the second for the girls and the top for activities, laundry and such. Currently, only the bottom level is complete. Pastor Frederick used his personal money to get this far and is not out of funds.
You can only imagine the daily trials of housing that many people with inadequate facilties. In order to accomodate everyone, they have turned the second story into a makeshift shelter. It has temporary plywood walls and a metal roof... basically a lien to. They have filled it with bunk beds. There is one plumbed bathroom for approximatley 30 girls. As you can imagine, it rains quite hard in the tropics...when these rains come, the girls sleeping area can see as much as three inches of water. The need to finish the second floor to have proper facilities is of great need to the Bakti Mulia Orphanage.

Wale Ne Oki Orphanage
The Wale Ne Oki Orphanage cares for newborn babies and young children up to age 5. It is run by Mrs Linda Tumbel - Tambitan and staff of 10. The care of younger children is very labor intensive due to their age. The orphange stuggles to meet their monthly expenses and often times, the staff go without pay. They are all very dedicated to the children and go without pay to make sure the children come first. Their facilites are basic, but adequate.
In order to a pay for their basic monthly housing, utilities, food, schooling, baby formula and staff salaries they need to have approximately $2000 U.S. Dollars per month. As with most orphanages in Manado, those caring for the children are busy just with that full time and have not extra time or energy to try to find additional funding. They are in need of consistant monthly funding to stabilize their operations.

Nazaret Orphanage
The Nazareth Orphanage is located next door to the Wale Ne Oki Orphanage. It is ran by 3 full time staff. Their facility, for the most part, is adequate and their finances are short.
Heal the Nations and a team of local Christian laborors just completed the roof on one of their major buidlings. It has been in disrepair for a very long time. With it's completion, they will now be able to use this area for exercise, play time, bibles studies and indoor games when it is raining.
The kids in the Nazareth Orphanage range in age from 6 - 18 years. As with all the other Orphanages, their ongoing struggle is to make ends meet each month. It is more costly to cloth and educate the older kids as they must have uniforms, lunches and shcool supplies. The challenge in Indonesia is that there is no program to help older children transition from the orphanage to a sedondary education and/or some type of career as they face adult hood. It is very inexpensive to provide and education witin the Indonesian Univeristy System and make a life time difference for these kids. Otherwise, they will live out their adult life poor and without the skills necessary to find employemnt.
The annual cost to pay for the basic needs and overhead of the Nazareth Orphanage is approximately $2000 U.S. Dollars per month.
